The newly constituted Board of the Delta State Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (DACCIMA) Ltd/Gte has held its inaugural meeting with a firm promise to take the Association to greater heights.

DACCIMA President, Chief (Dr) Anthony Idigbe, SAN, who made the promise at a press briefing after the meeting in Warri, appreciated the Directors for attending in full, saying that it was in line with the spirit of the founding fathers of the group over the past 19 years of its existence.

He said the purpose of the meeting was to elect the Board Chairman, confirm the composition of the Board, adopt the bylaw for proper governance of the Association, confirm the appointment of the Board’s Secretary, among others.

According to him, the Board, after an exhaustive deliberation, ratified the election of the current President of DACCIMA, Chief (Dr) Anthony Idigbe, SAN, sponsored by Asaba Chambers, as its Chairman via a motion moved by Chief Emma Avworo from Ethiope Chambers, second by Chief Simeon Asite from Warri Chambers and unanimously adopted by all the Directors.

He revealed that the Board also made further deliberations and resolved to adopt the bylaws of the Association, confirm the Board composition, adopt DACCIMA Account and Mandate with UBA Plc, and confirm the appointment of Hon Okolie Peter Isioma JP FIMC as the Board Secretary, among others.

The Chairman, who was highly elated, appreciated the unanimous acceptance of the Board members and pledged to ensure that DACCIMA was repositioned to the right direction and particularly encouraged the private sector participation in the economic development of Delta state and Nigeria, while ensuring a good relationship with NACCIMA and the Delta State Government.

In their remarks, Chief Uju Udeme and Dr. Augustine Egbebadia acknowledge the effort of the DACCIMA Board Chairman, which culminated to various achievements during his tenure as DACCIMA President.

Also speaking, Hon Okolie Peter Isioma thanked the Directors for confirming his appointment as the Board Secretary, and pledged to work according to the rules of engagement, assuring that the success of DACCIMA would be his primary responsibility.

Those present at the meeting included the Chief Uju Udeme, Chief Emmanuel Avworo, Dr. Augustine Egbebadia, JP, and Chief Simeon Asite, JP, while Prince David Iweta and Chief William Makinde joined via zoom.
